The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production support infrastructure used in the fabrication of metal roofing products. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment including roll formers, slitters, presses, shears, forklifts, and wrapping equipment
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Inspect, repair, and maintain motors, bearings, drive systems, conveyors, and control panels
Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and changeovers for production runs
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records
Maintain facility systems including lighting, HVAC, air compressors, and water systems
Support upkeep of building structures, roofing, and plant safety systems
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and confined space procedures
Conduct equipment safety inspections and report hazards promptly
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and safety
Collaborate with production teams to resolve equipment issues efficiently
Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new machinery
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and parts
Source manufacturers and place orders for tooling, equipment, and maintenance materials
Perform preventive maintenance and in‑house repairs on forklifts to minimize downtime
Assist with maintaining company fleet including Conestoga trailers, Moffitts, and related vehicles
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
Minimum of 3 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Experience with PLC troubleshooting, programming, and HMI systems
Familiarity with CNC controls, extruders, and industrial automation equipment
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual maintenance tasks
Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work on equipment for extended periods
Comfortable working in industrial environments with heat, noise, and varying conditions
Full‑time role with potential for rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or on‑call support
