Position Summary

Advanced Motion Controls is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead and oversee all manufacturing operations within our electronics and servo drive production facility. This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and on-time execution of the production schedule while maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, and employee engagement. Will provide leadership and direction to Production Supervisors, Operational Area Leads, and Manufacturing Operators, ensuring manufacturing objectives are achieved through effective planning, workforce development, performance management, and continuous improvement. This role serves as the primary owner of manufacturing execution, production capacity, labor utilization, and departmental performance metrics. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in electronics manufacturing, team development, and operational excellence.

REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

Manufacturing Operations Leadership

  • Lead all day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production of electronic assemblies and servo drive products.
  • Own execution of the master production schedule and ensure manufacturing orders are completed on time to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Establish and maintain the appropriate production cadence required to meet production goals, customer demand, and business objectives.
  • Drive schedule attainment by proactively identifying and removing barriers impacting production flow, output, or product quality.
  • Monitor manufacturing capacity, labor utilization, equipment availability, and workflow constraints to ensure production objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinate closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Engineering teams to support production requirements.
  • Lead daily production review meetings and implement recovery plans when production commitments are at risk.
  • Ensure manufacturing resources are aligned with production demand while maintaining efficiency and product quality.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Directly manage Production Supervisors, Operational Area Leads, and Manufacturing personnel.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, mentor, and develop manufacturing employees to support organizational growth and succession planning.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and accountability across all levels of the manufacturing organization.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development.
  • Address employee relations matters, including performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with company policies.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, employee engagement, and continuous learning.
  • Maintain a safe and highly engaged manufacturing workforce.
  • Develop supervisors and area leads into strong manufacturing leaders capable of driving operational results.

Production Performance Management

  • Establish, monitor, and drive achievement of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze production performance data and implement actions to improve operational results.
  • Consistently achieve production schedule attainment targets.
  • Meet customer delivery commitments and production completion dates.
  • Maintain accountability for department performance including:

  • Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues impacting delivery, quality, or productivity.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, workflow, equipment utilization, and labor efficiency.
  • Drive waste reduction initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and operational effectiveness.
  • Utilize data-driven decision making to support process improvements and operational excellence.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to implement process improvements, new equipment, automation initiatives, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement at all organizational levels that support company growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Improve manufacturing throughput, labor efficiency, and productivity.
  • Reduce scrap, rework, and manufacturing cycle times.

Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all quality standards, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, ESD procedures, and ISO processes.
  • Support successful internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Drive initiatives to improve product quality and manufacturing consistency.

Safety and Environmental Responsibility

  • Champion a culture of safety throughout the manufacturing organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Lead investigations and corrective actions related to safety incidents or near misses.
  • Promote employee participation in safety initiatives and continuous workplace improvement.

Capacity Planning and Resource Management

  • Evaluate manufacturing capacity requirements to support forecasted demand and business growth.
  • Develop staffing plans and labor allocation strategies to optimize production efficiency.
  • Partner with Planning and Operations leadership to identify future resource requirements.
  • Support capital equipment planning and manufacturing expansion initiatives.
  • Ensure workforce capabilities align with current and future production needs.

Additional job duties as assigned.

Will report to the Director of Operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of manufacturing experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing supervisors, leads, and production personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic assembly, testing processes, manufacturing operations, and production control systems.
  • Demonstrated success executing production schedules and meeting customer delivery commitments.
  • Proven experience hiring, developing, coaching, and leading manufacturing teams.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, process control, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in servo drive, motion control, industrial automation, power electronics, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Experience managing multiple shifts in low-volume/high-mix electronics manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification and/or Six Sigma Certification.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and IPC standards.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and production scale-up activities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics F&SCM or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience leveraging AI and Sequel Database like tools to accelerate work capabilities

Additional Requirements:

  • Frequently stand, walk, sit and work within a manufacturing environment.
  • Regular use of both hands and arms to perform job-related functions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds and periodically up to 50 pounds.
