Description
- Lead, mentor, and develop Manufacturing Engineers, NPD Engineers, Programmers, and Manufacturing Technicians.
- Serve as the technical authority for machining, tooling, and manufacturing process improvement.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, EH&S, and HR to align manufacturing objectives with business goals.
- Oversee manufacturing processes, documentation, and engineering standards.
- Support the successful transition of new products from prototype to full-scale production.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and execute engineering strategies that improve production capabilities and efficiency.
- Analyze manufacturing performance metrics to identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
- Support capital equipment investments and advanced manufacturing technology implementation.
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.
- Establish departmental KPIs and drive accountability for results.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Profile
The ideal Manufacturing Engineering Manager should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting CNC machining, fabrication, assembly, or precision manufacturing operations.
- Strong background in manufacturing process improvement and operational excellence.
- Demonstrated success leading engineering teams within complex production environments.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proven project management experience from concept through implementation.
- Strong understanding of machining technologies, tooling, and manufacturing systems.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, MS Dynamics, and D365.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strategic thinker with a strong continuous improvement mindset.
