Job Title: Materials Handler
Location: Rainsville, AL (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Shift Schedule: 1st shift training- 6:00 AM -2:30 PM
2nd shift: 3:00 PM -11:30 PM (Once Training Gets Completed)
Pay Range: $15.00 per hour on W2

Job Description

Primary Objective of Position:

The Material Handler I will supply lines with raw materials and move unfinished goods through the manufacturing process utilizing a forklift.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and procedures to include proper use of required PPE.
• Operate a stand up and LP forklift safely.
• Supply raw materials where needed in the production process.
• Maintain kit carts where applicable.
• Facilitate movement of product through the production process.
• Adhere to receiving procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of parts and home locations.
• Manage and consolidate inventory in stockroom and other areas as directed.
• Participate in physical inventory activities.
• Utilize lift assistance to handle products weighing more than 50 pounds.
• Meet established efficiency and productivity standards.
• Maintain 6S and Lean Manufacturing standards.
• Additional or updated duties as business demands change.

Physical Demands

• Working at a fast pace.
• Sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time.
• Manually handling up to 50 pounds often by lift/push/pull.
• Working with the various distractions of a manufacturing environment.
• Bending, stooping, reaching occasionally.

Must Haves

• Ability to safely operate a stand-up and LP forklift and complete forklift certification requirements.

• Physical capability to manually handle up to 50 pounds often and lift items over 50 pounds using lift assistance.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced, 100% onsite manufacturing environment on the assigned 2nd shift (3 PM – 11:30 PM).

• Strong time management, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and 6S/Lean manufacturing standards.
