The Manufacturing Study Engineer is responsible for conducting cost and process studies for Body-In-White Shops on new model programs. You will be responsible for understanding all the processes in a Body Shop including underbody bodysides body framing roof ARS closures panel line metal finish stamping sub-assemblies transfer systems and conveyors. You will analyze newly proposed product changes and determine the process and cost impact on the manufacturing process. You will be responsible to deliver cost roll ups and activity slides that explain the changes. You will also deliver AutoCAD layouts of the modified plant process or site plan. Coordination with other groups such as logistics ICT GA and facilities. You will also be called on to complete MakeBuy studies and specialty studies for new technologies and processes.

 

Basic Qualifications -------------------

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience required with knowledge of manufacturing and plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes with a focus on Body-In-White Logistics and facilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills a must.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong organizational/project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to successfully achieve results under time pressure.
  • Must have the ability to work with all levels of management while establishing and maintaining lines of communication.
  • Superior teamwork and leadership skills required as well as the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications ----------------------

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • Vehicle assembly and/or vehicle launch experience.
