# Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer - BIW Feasibility

## Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer - BIW Feasibility will be responsible for performing BIW manufacturing activities for new model and mid-cycle action programs including providing input to manufacturing simulation engineers, communicating issues to Product Engineering, proposing alternative solutions, and driving all issues to closure.

The responsibility includes:

  • Developing Design to Manufacturing proposals to optimize capital expenditures (Capex).
  • Supporting future Plant Loading studies.
  • Developing and executing Vertical Integration for Make/Buy alignment.
  • Developing detailed Process Maps with Pre-Scroll.
  • Ensuring Feasibility studies are performed in the Plant Environment.
  • Executing Change Management meetings to ensure product process and tooling are aligned.
  • Monitoring all BIW KPIs.

The role will be responsible to ensure that the Design to Manufacturing and Feasibility requirements are implemented in the Product Design.

The Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer - BIW Feasibility will develop high visibility weekly updates to Stellantis management. Duties may also include some travel to assembly plants to support early phases of vehicle launches relative to manufacturing feasibility issues.

## Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience with knowledge of manufacturing and plant operations.
  • CAD skills required to navigate to vehicle tree position, tooling, carriers, cut sections, stake measurements, manipulate components, load path. Preferred tools: Teamcenter, Vismockup, NX, PLM, Catia.
  • Strong knowledge of GA manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong organizational/project management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly).
  • Self-motivated and able to successfully achieve results under time pressure.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management while establishing and maintaining lines of communication.
  • Superior teamwork and leadership skills required as well as the ability to handle multiple projects.

## Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
