Description:
Unigraphics NX Designer - Templates, Parametrics & Automation User Advocate

Engagement Structure:
This role supports iterative development cycles, including prototype evaluation, pilot testing, and feedback integration.
The designer collaborates with developers and manufacturing teams to ensure tools are production-ready.
Hybrid role: mix of onsite and remote work based on business needs. Typically, 3 days a week in office.

Scope of Work:
The NX Designer will support the development of advanced design and manufacturing automation tools, working natively in sketches and expressions to drive fully parametric parts and assemblies in R&D.

The role includes but not limited to creating fixture and product design examples, testing automation tools, with the goal of providing structured feedback to software developers. The designer acts as the primary user advocate, ensuring tools reflect real design, product, and manufacturing workflows.

Deliverables:

• Create NX templates, parametric models, and reusable design assets
• Develop fixture and product designs for testing automation tools
• Provide requirements and workflow expectations to developers
• Test prototypes and pilot tools with Manufacturing and Advanced Vehicle Development
• Validate integration of current R&D related projects
• Provide light user documentation for templates and tools
• Collaboration with current users and template owners

• Expressions & parameter management
• Template & Reuse Library proficiency
• Assembly-level parametric (WAVE & datums)
• Ability to interpret Best Practices and Manufacturing requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Product Template Studio/Block UI Styler
• Coding and journaling fundamentals
• NX Assembly Sequencing
• Understanding of the OEM vehicle assembly structure (VAS)
• Experience with GPDL tools
