Lead 2nd Shift Production at Serta Simmons Bedding – Riviera Beach, FL

Step into the heart of our Riviera Beach facility and guide a high-performing 2nd shift team to build quality bedding products safely, on time, and within cost. As the Production Supervisor, you’ll orchestrate people, process, and materials while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

A Day in Your Shift

  • Kick off with a focused cell huddle: align on goals, set expectations, and communicate priorities.
  • Stay on the floor: check production status hourly, remove bottlenecks, and course-correct to hit daily targets.
  • Oversee continuous flow and materials delivery systems, partnering with associates to refine processes.
  • Audit key result areas (quality, safety, scrap) yourself or assign audits to ensure standards are met.
  • Interpret specifications and job orders, translate them into clear tasks, and delegate effectively.
  • Review production schedules, estimate labor hours, and balance workload to meet delivery commitments.
  • Coach and develop associates to expand skills and strengthen the bench.
  • Identify daily production challenges, implement solutions to prevent recurrence, and champion change management.
  • Recommend improvements to equipment, quality, production methods, and working conditions.

How You’ll Lead

  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable while building morale.
  • Handle conflict professionally and support associates through change.
  • Establish and monitor standardized work for your team and follow Leader Standard Work for this role.
  • Communicate precisely—up, down, and across the organization—listening to feedback and giving crisp direction.

Safety and Decision-Making

  • Lead by example: enforce safety protocols and proactively identify hazards.
  • Diagnose root causes quickly, make sound decisions under pressure, and balance speed with quality and safety.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a Lean manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on understanding of machinery, processes, and production flow with the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards and quality control practices.
  • Fluency in production metrics and reporting.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 10%.
