Manufacturing Operations Manager - Manufacturing Facility

Location: Houston, TX 77070

Work Type: 100% Onsite

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 base salary + bonus

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing facility specializing in metal strut production and sub-assembly of MEP frame systems.

This role is responsible for driving performance across safety, quality, delivery, and productivity while building and scaling a high-performing manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience in fast-paced production environments and a track record of implementing operational discipline, lean processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position requires international travel for initial training.

What You'll Do

Site Leadership & Operations

  • Lead all manufacturing operations including production, assembly, warehousing, shipping/receiving, inventory control, and facility operations

  • Serve as the primary operational leader responsible for overall site performance

  • Develop and execute operational strategies to support growth and scalability

Production & Performance

  • Drive production schedule attainment and manufacturing throughput

  • Ensure on-time delivery for all production and customer commitments

  • Monitor and improve key KPIs:

  • On-time delivery

  • First-time quality

  • Labor productivity

  • Schedule attainment

  • Capacity utilization

  • Inventory accuracy

  • Safety performance

  • Lead daily production meetings and performance reviews

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Project Management teams

  • Align production schedules with project timelines and operational goals

  • Support ERP system implementation and operational reporting

People Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly production teams

  • Manage staffing levels, labor utilization, overtime, and resource allocation

  • Build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

  • Establish training programs, succession planning, and employee development initiatives

Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and internal safety programs

  • Lead safety audits, investigations, and corrective actions

  • Drive quality initiatives focused on first-time quality and defect prevention

  • Support ISO 9001 processes and corrective actions

  • Implement lean manufacturing tools (5S, standard work, waste reduction)

  • Optimize material flow, warehouse organization, and production layouts

What You Bring

Core Skills

  • Strong leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles

  • Experience with production planning, scheduling, and capacity management

  • Ability to analyze KPIs and drive operational performance

  • ERP system experience and operational reporting

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for initial training

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred

  • 8-10+ years of manufacturing or operations management experience

  • Experience managing complex manufacturing or industrial operations required

  • Background in fabricated metals, modular assembly, or industrial production preferred

  • Experience in startup or high-growth manufacturing environments preferred

  • Experience supporting project-based manufacturing and logistics coordination preferred

  • Comfortable with overseas travel for training and onboarding
