A day in the life

You start your shift by rallying a crew of 20+ hourly associates. Together, you make a plan to build product safely, hit productivity targets, and ship to customers on time and to exact specification. You guide the team’s priorities, remove roadblocks, and keep communication crisp so every order moves with purpose.

Throughout the day, you provide hands-on supervision and clear direction to your direct reports. You translate goals into actionable tasks, coordinate resources, and ensure each workstation follows documented standard work. When a challenge appears, you coach, not just correct—motivating the team to perform as one.

Continuous improvement is your default setting. You track key business metrics, use lean tools to eliminate waste, and lead Rapid Improvement Events (Kaizen) when they’ll make a measurable difference. You write, implement, and refine standard work so best practices stick.

Production planning is where you connect strategy to execution. You align daily builds with company objectives, sequence work to meet requirements, and keep material flowing—whether it’s bound for the end customer or feeding upstream operations.

Quality and safety never take a back seat. You oversee production accuracy to meet ISO and internal quality standards, and you ensure every operation follows established EHS procedures. You maintain and publish operations KPIs so the team sees progress in real time.

Cost discipline is part of your toolkit. You identify and implement practical cost-reduction measures that drive efficiency without sacrificing safety or quality.

People development is core to your leadership. You organize training sessions, select and develop talent, and evaluate performance to keep the organization strong. You foster a motivated, cohesive team that takes pride in results.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven leadership and supervisory capability
  • 5+ years in operations or warehouse management environments
  • Experience moving inbound and outbound freight and applying freight consolidation techniques
