Job Summary:

Responsible for measuring buttons with a drop gauge and recording information on the base of the cup in accordance with QWI. Block measured parts using Delrin arbors and an automated blocking system (Auto-blockers). May adjust auto-blockers and wax dispenser.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Write clearly and legibly.

  • Carefully handle material.

  • Read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

  • Print and speak simple sentences.

  • Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.

  • Perform operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • Automated machinery knowledge.

  • Adjust Focusing.

  • Clear vision at 20 inches or less.

Work Environment:

  • No sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, and smelling (0%).
  • Occasionally walking, lifting and moving up to 40lbs (0-25%).
  • Occasionally fumes, toxic and caustic chemicals (0-25%).
  • Frequently reaching (50-75%).
  • Constantly standing and using hands (75-100%).
  • Constantly performing in wet or humid conditions, non-weather (75-100%).
  • Constantly working near automated mechanical parts and vibrations (75-100%).

Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing experience.

  • Previous assembly line experience.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $22.00 and $23.00 per hour and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits

  • Measure each part using a ruby tip on the drop gauge system.

  • Record measured number on the base of cup using a sharpie.

  • Use a microscope (Adjust Focus) to check the surface of base curve for any defects (Cracks, scratches and scuff marks).

  • Monitor and stir wax in reservoirs of all blockers to ensure sufficient wax is present.

  • May cut wax cube to fit in reservoirs using a hammer and razor blade.

  • Block measured parts using Delrin arbors and automated blocking system.

  • Use compressed air to blow off debris from the lathed part.

  • Follow all manufacturing SOPs, GDP, and GMP guidelines.

  • Fill out daily production logs (QF7530) and Device History Record's (DHR).

  • A cross‑trained Blocking Operator may be assigned to various areas of the manufacturing floor as needed to meet production priorities.

  • As business needs dictate, work extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to include mandatory overtime.

  • 0%
