Manufacturing Operator

= Location: Northampton, MA 01060
= Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
=R Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Occasional opportunities available on 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)

= Assignment Length: Contract through September 2026

Position Overview

Our client is seeking dependable and safety-minded Manufacturing Operators to join their production team in Northampton, MA. In this hands-on role, you'll support the manufacturing process from raw materials through finished product while ensuring quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with manufacturing experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment and take pride in producing high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Monitor and support the manufacturing process from raw materials through finished goods.
  • Produce a variety of ceramic products according to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Assist with manufacturing processes including:
    • Mixing
    • Extrusion
    • Drying
    • Cutting
    • Firing
    • Packaging
    • Quality Control
  • Monitor production flow to maximize efficiency and meet customer requirements.
  • Track raw materials, inventory, and production consumables.
  • Complete production records and quality documentation accurately.
  • Perform equipment start-up, shutdown, cleaning, and product changeovers.
  • Adjust machine settings and processing parameters to meet product specifications.
  • Troubleshoot production and quality issues in collaboration with engineering and management teams.
  • Operate forklifts to transport raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Package finished products for shipment.
  • Maintain organized workstations and assist with general housekeeping throughout the facility.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License required.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Comfortable working around industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights when required.
