The Manufacturing Order Specialist will be responsible for translating customer orders and specifications into clear, accurate, and manufacturable product configurations. This role bridges the gap between sales, engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring each order meets customer requirements and company standards. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Order Detailers, Sales Engineering, and Purchasing to ensure clarity of each Sales Order.
- Edit Work Orders from Sales Engineering Special Instructions-Updating Work Order Bills of Materials (BOMs), Routings, and comments.
- Use Optimization Software and manual calculations to improve yield in manufacturing of doors or their components.
- Work with Detailers and Purchasing Teams when a revision occurs. Maintain accurate Work Order information.
- Support Order Detailers and Production Scheduling by providing technical clarity and resolving ambiguities.
- Identify and resolve errors in orders before production to reduce rework and increase efficiency.
- Assist in company-wide quality improvement initiatives.
- Investigate and write configuration tickets to improve Consistency of Work Order. Participate in testing, prior to launch to “Live” environment.
- Review material inventory availability for all Sales Orders. Providing data to Production Scheduling to improve customer lead times.
- Create and update Technical Work Instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in order engineering, applications engineering, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, mechanical components, and manufacturing processes.
- This individual must possess creativity, ingenuity, keen sense of detail, and a strong desire to offer unique solutions to unique customer requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Commit to being a steady and reliable team-member. Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
- Technical writing capability. Understand, review and write standard instructions.
- Basic knowledge of Quality, Continuous Improvement and/or Lean concepts.
