About the Opportunity
Chipton-Ross is hiring a contract Manufacturing Parts Master Data Planner to support our client in Owego, NY. In this full-time, 1st-shift role on a 4/10 schedule, you’ll keep the lifeblood of manufacturing—part attribute data—accurate, connected, and ready for action.
A Day in the Role
You start your morning reviewing cross-site data discrepancies and system error queues. With minimal direction, you investigate data mismatches, reconcile records, and coordinate fixes that keep production moving. Throughout the day, you partner with Manufacturing Engineers, Master Data Analysts, and Component Engineers to enhance the quality of part data and strengthen automation within PLM. You generate meaningful metrics, coach new engineers on data stewardship best practices, and serve as a go-to subject matter expert on PLM tools—especially PTC Windchill and MPMLink. Your work places you at the forefront of the client’s 1LMX Transition, elevating adaptability and flexibility across manufacturing teams.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and improve manufacturing part attribute data quality across sites
- Resolve cross-site data issues and address system errors/data mismatches with minimal supervision
- Provide feedback to enhance database and PLM automation
- Generate metrics that illuminate data health and process performance
- Train new engineers and champion data stewardship
- Act as a database/PLM subject matter expert for Manufacturing Engineers
Required Skills & Experience
- Great communicator with a technical background
- Strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with databases
- Manufacturing or Military Specification (Mil-Spec) experience
- PLM software proficiency (PTC products preferred)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot technical problems independently (e.g., system errors, data mismatches)
Preferred Qualifications
- STEM degree (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with manufacturer technical datasheets (TDS)
- Experience with PTC Windchill and MPMLink
- Background collecting, compiling, and maintaining data in structured database tools
Education
Accredited High School Diploma/GED required.
