Manufacturing Planner / Scheduler

This position is located in Warner Robins, Georgia supporting UDRI’s Advanced Technology and Training Center (ATTC). This position provides manufacturing, operations, and logistics support for aircraft, vehicle, and ground support equipment parts and components. This position will support the Air Force Metal Fabrication and Technologies Office daily operations.

Duties will include managing the production schedule, supply chain management, coordinating shipments of parts to/from customers and/or vendors, part routing through shop floor, process analysis and resource planning using ERP software, and inventory management and related purchasing activities. In addition, this position will be responsible for the coordination, compilation, and facilitation of periodic metrics reviews. This position may also be responsible for planning, coordination, and management of special projects. Traveling between base and suppliers as needed.

P2 Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, operations management, engineering/technology plus 3 years related experience OR high school plus 10 years of related experience.
3 years technical experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling role.
3 years of experience in logistics analysis and production planning in a manufacturing environment.
3 years of experience utilizing an ERP system creating manufacturing routers or resource planning in a manufacturing environment.
1 year of experience related to purchasing activities.
Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, CNC machining, forging, heat treat and additive manufacturing for metals or plastics.
Competent in interpreting and/or creating manufacturing plans.
Proficient at using MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) to track/present data.
Experience creating and briefing production reports to senior leadership.
Experience working with government customers in a manufacturing environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently.
Valid driver’s license with low-risk driving record.
Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.

P3 Minimum Qualifications - Must meet requirements for P2 in addition to:

Bachelor's degree in business management, finance, operations management, engineering/technology plus 6 years related experience, OR high school plus 15 years of related experience.
6 years technical experience in manufacturing planning/scheduling role.
6 years of experience in logistics analysis and production planning in a manufacturing environment.
6 years of experience utilizing an ERP system creating manufacturing routers or resource planning in a manufacturing environment.
6 years of experience related to purchasing activities.

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Ability to read technical drawings, engineering drawings, and interpret specifications.
Experience in inventory management and control.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality standards.
Experience implementing ERP software.
Experience with employing lean concepts to improve processes in a manufacturing environment (5S, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).
Experience working with socially and culturally diverse communities.
