Salary & Duration: $80 - $100/hour - Expected to be a 3-month assignment

Precix is currently seeking an experienced manufacturing planning consultant with strong SAP planning and scheduling expertise to help us evaluate and improve our current production planning process.

These are the primary responsibilities :

  • Evaluate our current planning and scheduling processes.
  • Review our SAP planning configuration and scheduling practices.
  • Assist with the setup and optimization of CM21 (Capacity Leveling) to improve finite scheduling and work center sequencing.
  • Configure scheduling strategies that better align production capacity with customer demand.
  • Identify bottlenecks and opportunities to improve production flow.
  • Recommend strategies to reduce WIP and improve first-in, first-out (FIFO) discipline.
  • Improve schedule adherence, on-time delivery, and overall manufacturing throughput.
  • Train our planning team on CM21 best practices and establish

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with SAP Production Planning (SAP PP) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience configuring and utilizing CM21 (Capacity Leveling) for production planning and finite scheduling.
  • Previous experience supporting manufacturing planning and scheduling operations in a discrete manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, work center sequencing, and material flow.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements to increase production efficiency and throughput.
  • Ability to analyze manufacturing processes, identify bottlenecks, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Experience training planners, supervisors, or manufacturing teams on planning processes and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading or supporting SAP PP implementations, optimizations, or planning process improvements.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM (CPIM), or similar manufacturing planning certification.
  • Experience in rubber, plastics, automotive, or other high-mix manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with finite scheduling, FIFO, WIP reduction, and production performance metrics.
  • Experience documenting processes and developing standardized planning procedures.
