PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer in Archbald, PA for a 10 month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role modifies manufacturing processes and procedures, supports assemblers on the production floor, and helps drive product quality through corrective actions and process compliance. You will review defective hardware, interpret work instructions, and identify opportunities to improve flow, reduce span time, and reduce hours per unit.
Required Skills
High School Diploma
Experience with cable and harness manufacturing
Experience with electromechanical assembly manufacturing
Experience with J-STD, IPC-610, and IPC-620 (certifications not required)
Experience modifying manufacturing processes and procedures
Experience reviewing defective hardware and providing instructions to return to acceptable condition
Ability to interpret work instructions and support manufacturing assemblers
Ability to investigate process/tool deficiencies and initiate corrective actions to ensure product quality
Ability to ensure processes and procedures comply with regulations
Preferred Skills
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
Experience with Windchill PLM
Experience with SAP ERP
Experience with Apriso
What You’ll Do
Modify manufacturing processes and procedures as required
Review defective hardware and provide instructions to return hardware to acceptable condition
Support manufacturing assemblers by interpreting work instructions and aiding overall production
Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production plans as needed
Review performance of tools and process plans to verify efficiency
Investigate problems and deficiencies and initiate corrective actions to ensure product quality
Provide guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize manufacturing techniques
Ensure processes and procedures remain compliant with applicable regulations
Identify opportunities to improve production flow, reduce span times, and reduce hours per unit
