Job Description
- Provide technical support for extrusion and compounding operations
- Troubleshoot process, equipment, tooling, and material issues
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and operating parameters
- Implement machine, tooling, and equipment improvements
- Standardize processes and develop operating instructions and SOPs
- Train production teams on process improvements and best practices
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Reduce scrap rates and improve overall manufacturing efficiency
- Maintain BOM accuracy and process documentation
- Implement quality and productivity improvements across production lines
- Develop troubleshooting guides for manufacturing personnel
- Establish and monitor operational performance metrics
- Lead process development activities for new product introductions
- Support raw material qualification and validation trials
- Participate in Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements

The Successful Applicant
A successful Manufacturing Process Engineer should have:
- BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years of process engineering experience in manufacturing environments
- Hands-on plastics extrusion experience required
- PVC compounding experience preferred
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement
- Experience supporting Industry 4.0 initiatives and smart manufacturing systems
- Experience with Ignition SCADA systems preferred
- Knowledge of real-time process monitoring and data acquisition platforms
- Ability to analyze manufacturing data and drive process optimization
- Experience improving temperature profiles, and process stability
- Exposure to predictive maintenance, predictive quality, or machine learning applications preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively with both engineering and production teams
