Overview

We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support a growing, highly automated manufacturing operation in Rensselaer, NY. This role focuses on driving process improvements, maximizing equipment uptime, and ensuring product quality in a high-volume, tight-tolerance environment.

You will work closely with production, engineering, and cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, support product lifecycle activities, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput
• Maintain and support automated equipment and manual fixtures, including preventative maintenance programs
• Partner with operators and technicians on the floor to identify and implement process improvements
• Analyze manufacturing data and metrics to drive continuous improvement and quality enhancements
• Support product lifecycle activities, representing manufacturing on cross-functional teams
• Develop and maintain work instructions, documentation, and process standards
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions
• Assist with process development, tooling, and equipment design
• Support automation systems, production troubleshooting, and equipment performance improvements
• Collaborate on mechanical design and mold design, particularly in plastics manufacturing

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)

• At least 1+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience

• Experience with CAD software, including SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD

• Knowledge of:

• Manufacturing process improvement

• Continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma)

• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with plastics injection molding and mold design
• Hands-on experience with automation systems or robotics
• Background in tooling, equipment design, or process development
• Strong SolidWorks skills for 3D modeling and mechanical design
• Lean Six Sigma certification or project experience

• Engineering team works 1st shift (7 AM - 3:30 PM, M-F)

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Rensselaer, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/yr.

2 weeks vacation time (80 hours); health, dental & vision benefits partially paid by the employer; 401k match up to 4%. Full-time, permanent position.
