Position Summary

The Production Manager provides hands-on management, development, and oversight of production operations for an assigned project. This role is responsible for transitioning customer projects into a high-performing Lean Manufacturing environment while ensuring safety, quality, on-time delivery, and production efficiency consistently meet or exceed expectations.

Role Responsibilities

· Provide overall management for an assigned project, including performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.

· Drive the application of Lean Manufacturing tools and concepts to achieve measurable and sustainable improvements.

· Develop and execute project strategy, production schedules, and resource plans aligned with production requirements.

· Lead, mentor, and develop production team members to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.

· Monitor and report on key operational KPIs, including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost.

· Oversee assigned manufacturing personnel, ensuring alignment, engagement, development, and retention.

· Promote a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

· Identify opportunities for process efficiency, waste reduction, and improved production performance.

· Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, and other departments to drive alignment and seamless project execution.

· Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and vendors.

· Maintain accountability for all aspects of assigned projects, including processes, procedures, equipment, and execution strategies.

· Coordinate with the Plant Manager to provide strategic and tactical input on manufacturing support and execution.

· Participate in production hour estimating, design-for-manufacturability reviews, and risk assessments for project pursuits.

· Develop and implement manufacturing processes, including hazard analysis, safety procedures, and team member skill assessments.

· Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

· 10+ years of manufacturing management or operations experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.

· Minimum 2 years of Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

· Proven leadership capabilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams with an emphasis on collaboration and accountability.

· Excellent time management skills and a strong sense of urgency.

· Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.

· Results-oriented, strategic, and tactical approach with strong execution capabilities.

· Hands-on and decisive operational leadership style.

· Experience managing production morale and key operational metrics.

· Passion for developing team members and driving process excellence.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business software.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

· Minimal travel required.

· Frequent sitting, standing, and walking within the manufacturing facility.

· Noise levels may fluctuate from quiet to loud.

· Exposure to typical manufacturing and production hazards.

· Must comply with applicable company policies and procedures.
