Position Summary:

We are looking for a results-driven Production Manager to oversee all manufacturing and assembly operations, ensuring efficient workflow, cost-effective production, and adherence to quality, safety, and delivery standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in leading teams within a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

1. Production Oversight:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor production schedules to meet business demands and delivery deadlines.
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring optimal use of equipment, materials, and labor.

2. Team Leadership:

  • Manage, train, and mentor production staff to ensure high performance, high morale, and accountability.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for growth and development.
  • Oversee, manage, and track the Operations P&L by monitoring budget versus actual expenses, identifying variances, and implementing cost-control measures to ensure financial targets and profitability goals are achieved.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.

3. Cost of Goods:

  • Analyze and manage production costs to control and reduce the cost of goods sold (COGS).
  • Work with procurement and inventory teams to secure cost-effective raw materials and minimize waste.
  • Monitor and optimize labor and machine utilization to achieve cost efficiency without compromising quality.

4. Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.

5. Process Improvement:

  • Identify inefficiencies in production processes and implement lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement and learning.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce waste, optimize resources, and improve workflow.

6. Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure the production team adheres to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training to maintain a secure working environment.
  • In partnership with Human Resources, co-lead the Safety Committee.

7. Resource Management:

  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, ensuring timely procurement and minimizing downtime.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment to prevent disruptions.

8. Reporting & Metrics:

  • Prepare and present production reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to management.
  • Analyze data to track performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor team members.
  • Strong understanding of production management principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality assurance standards (ISO, OSHA, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Physical agility to operate equipment.
