Manufacturing Production Worker

Pay Range: $13.00hr - $18.00hr

Mission Statement:

The organization is currently seeking a Production Worker to join the Power Grids division and perform general labor to manufacture world-class dry type transformers for the distribution and power transformer markets within the Atkins, VA facility. Openings are available in Assembly, Welding, and Support departments.

Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, the candidate will be expected to follow specific directions to perform tasks in an assigned area in a heavy manufacturing environment. Assignments may include but are not limited to:

• Perform duties in a manner fully compliant with prevailing safety and quality procedures and policies.
• Maintain housekeeping standards.
• Use engineering drawings to wind, assemble, and fabricate product ensuring the highest quality product to meet customer requirements and delivery.
• Manually assemble material used in transformer manufacturing; this is a very hands-on process.
• Operate semi-automatic and manual winding machines.
• Operate machinery to fabricate material such as coil, insulation, and wire used in transformer manufacturing.
• Use computers to check schedules and update manufacturing status of jobs.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and check sheets.
• Operate various types of cranes and fork trucks to aid in material handling.
• Continually monitor quality of work, addressing and resolving inquiries and problems.
• Participate in continuous improvements initiatives.
• Participate actively in team meetings and group discussions.
• Interface with other departments to accurately communicate information.
• Cross train in multiple skills as required.
• Assist in the training of other employees.
• Work effectively as a team player and independently.
• Work overtime as required including weekends.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• High School degree required.
• The candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements(Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):

• Ability to perform manual assembly in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate machinery and material handling equipment.
