We're seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Technician to support a fast-paced bakery manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with food manufacturing, microbiology, or quality systems experience who thrive in a collaborative production environment.

Flexibility Required

  • Occasional Saturdays based on production demands

 

What You'll Do

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you'll help ensure food products consistently meet company, regulatory, and customer quality standards.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Collect, sample, plate, test, analyze, and document product test results
  • Investigate and troubleshoot out-of-specification results
  • Maintain accurate laboratory and quality documentation
  • Perform quality data entry, trending, tracking, and reporting
  • Execute quality hold procedures for non-conforming products
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
  • Monitor Critical Control Point (CCP) records and food safety documentation
  • Participate in HACCP and food safety initiatives
  • Help maintain and improve food quality systems and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate with production teams to resolve quality concerns and customer complaints
  • Maintain laboratory supply inventory
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility
  • Participate in daily production and quality meetings

 

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific field with at least 2 years of quality assurance experience

OR

  • Minimum 6 years of related food manufacturing quality experience without a bachelor's degree
  • Current HACCP Certification
  • Experience in food manufacturing quality systems
  • Knowledge of microbiological, chemical, physical, and organoleptic testing
  • Strong understanding of GMPs, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 

Preferred

  • SQF Practitioner Certification
  • Experience with laboratory testing equipment and calibration
  • Experience in managing product specifications and quality documentation
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in a manufacturing environment throughout the shift
  • Ability to work safely around production equipment

 

Safety Requirements

  • Alchemy Safety Training
  • Safety shoes required on Day One
  • Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Sanitation Practices (GSPs), Food Safety, and Occupational Safety requirements
