Nashville Wire Products, an established local manufacturer of steel wire products for the material handling industry is growing and accepting resumes for Machine Setup Technician - Machine Operator for Resistance Welding Equipment at our Northwest Nashville, Tennessee location on overnight shift. This position generally works a 50-hour workweek, and we are currently offering a double time incentive for all overtime hours.
Overnight shift base schedule 3:30pm - 2:00am Monday - Friday
Pay progression ($1 differential for overnight shift not included) $25.50 start, $26.50 at 90 days, $27.50 at 1 year.
Responsibilities include:
Applicants must have recent steady work history with experience performing computer and mechanical machine set ups and troubleshooting while running production jobs. Equipment includes PLC controlled machinery, hydraulic and mechanical stamping presses, and automated resistance welding systems. Prior experience interpreting blueprints and reading tape measure required. Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic mathematical functions is required. Prior experience with computer operated equipment is required. Must be able to communicate technical information and determine acceptable machine performance and bring machinery to standard when necessary. During a 10 hour shift this position regularly performs heavy lifting (up to 60 pounds) bending and stooping. This position requires standing on concrete floors for long periods of time, and may be subject to extreme temperatures as plant production areas are not air conditioned. Excellent attendance and punctuality are required. Successful applicants must pass drug screen, and 7-year background check for misdemeanors and felonies.
