Role Overview:

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nightly production operations and supervising both union and non-union manufacturing personnel across multiple production departments. This role supports production scheduling, operational efficiency, quality standards, and workforce performance while ensuring a safe and organized manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong experience within die cutting, laminating, or printing operations, along with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues, coordinate workflow, and support high-volume manufacturing operations during overnight production shifts.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within die cutting, laminating, or printing departments required, preferably within the corrugated packaging industry.
  • Strong understanding of corrugation/flute processes, paper properties, and adhesive systems.
  • Experience tracking flute mileage, starch, and glue consumption.
  • Experience with KBA/Heidelberg presses, preferably large format 7-color presses.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment independently.
  • Ability to interpret die-cutting diagrams, spec sheets, and production documentation.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and workforce management skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English required; bilingual Spanish required.
  • Experience working within fast-paced manufacturing environments with culturally diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work overtime and support overnight operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production operations: Oversee 3rd shift manufacturing activities across printing, laminating, die cutting, sheeting, and related departments.
  • Coordinate production schedules: Work closely with Scheduling to ensure production goals and deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor workforce performance: Supervise attendance, productivity, quality, safety, and employee performance.
  • Support production flow: Ensure materials, tools, dies, and work-in-process inventory are available to maintain operational continuity.
  • Provide training and development: Coach and train employees on procedures, safety standards, and operational expectations.
  • Adjust production priorities: Respond to machine conditions, operational changes, and production needs as required.
  • Approve production quality: Review and approve production output across printing, laminating, and die cutting operations.
  • Ensure shift continuity: Prepare equipment, materials, and information for seamless transition between shifts.
  • Review production documentation: Analyze work orders, schedules, reports, and job bags to support production planning and output.
  • Promote safety and compliance: Enforce safety procedures, food safety standards, and housekeeping expectations throughout the facility.
  • Drive operational improvement: Recommend and implement improvements related to efficiency, quality, equipment performance, and employee motivation.
  • Manage employee performance: Conduct evaluations, establish goals, and support employee accountability and development.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
