Position Overview:

Manufacturing Team Lead (Machine Shop, Saw & Weld Operations)

Location: Akron, OH

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts (Fridays and overtime as needed)

RJS Corporation, a respected manufacturer with over 75 years of success, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Team Lead to oversee daily operations in our Machine Shop, Saw, and Weld areas.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a manufacturing professional who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and driving production results while working alongside employees on the shop floor.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities across Machine Shop, Saw, and Weld departments
• Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure production goals are met
• Train, coach, and develop team members
• Review blueprints, work orders, and production requirements
• Ensure quality, safety, and operational standards are maintained
• Support troubleshooting, workflow improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain accurate labor reporting and ERP/MRP transactions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in machining, fabrication, or welding
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, measuring tools, and quality standards
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Preferred Experience

• Mill and lathe experience
• Welding or fabrication knowledge
• Mastercam or other CAM software experience
• G-Code and M-Code programming knowledge
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience
