A growing food manufacturing organization is seeking a Manufacturing Team Lead to oversee daily production activities within a regulated processing environment. This role is responsible for supporting workforce performance, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring production goals are achieved efficiently and safely.

Position Summary
As a Manufacturing Team Lead, you will coordinate day-to-day production activities, provide guidance to frontline employees, and work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth operations. Success in this role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
Production Oversight
- Coordinate daily workflow to ensure production schedules are met
- Monitor staffing levels and adjust resources based on operational needs
- Lead shift start-up meetings and facilitate effective shift transitions
- Support efficient production flow while minimizing downtime
Team Leadership
- Train, mentor, and support production personnel
- Foster a positive and accountable workplace culture
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance guidance
- Encourage employee engagement and professional development
Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety programs and operational procedures
- Promote adherence to sanitation, quality, and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation
- Support internal inspections and external audits
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and waste reduction efforts
- Review performance metrics and help implement corrective actions
- Contribute ideas that support long-term operational success
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with maintenance teams to address equipment-related issues
- Coordinate with quality, inventory, and supply chain departments
- Communicate operational updates and production concerns to leadership
- Assist in resolving challenges that impact daily operations
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will typically possess:
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial operations
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in food manufacturing or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable
- Understanding of workplace safety and quality systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and reporting tools
- Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Work Environment
- Manufacturing facility operating under food safety and regulatory standards
- Exposure to refrigerated production areas may occur
- Position requires standing, walking, and active participation on the production floor
- Occasional lifting and movement of materials may be required
