    Description

    Job Description:
    • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Technician to support our production and engineering teams. This role is designed for a skilled technician who can bridge the gap between design and physical builds.
    • The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently on routine tasks while following specific engineering guidance for complex projects.
    • You will be responsible for incoming inspections, inventory management, and hands-on assembly and testing support.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Material First Article Inspection (FAI)
    • Perform comprehensive mechanical and electrical first-article inspections on incoming components.
    • Verify shipments against Purchase Orders (POs) and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure all parts are received and correct.
    • Validate that parts meet technical specifications, including dimensional accuracy, cable lengths, and electrical tolerances.
    Inventory Management & Kitting
    • Maintain accurate tracking of inventory levels for ongoing and upcoming projects.
    • Collaborate with the Materials Manager (Scott) to organize stock and pull kits for initial prototype and production builds.
    • Provide regular communication and status updates regarding material availability and shortages to the wider team.
    Assembly & Testing Support
    • Assist the engineering and manufacturing teams (Sajit's team) in the physical assembly of products.
    • Participate in the vetting and refinement of manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
    • Execute product testing and validation protocols under the guidance of the engineering team, ensuring all data is recorded accurately.
    General Engineering Support
    • Offload routine technical tasks from the engineering team to streamline project timelines.
    • Follow specific technical guidelines and documentation to execute tasks without the need for constant, detailed oversight.
    • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly cared for.

    Qualifications & Skills:
    • Experience: Proven experience as a technician in a manufacturing, assembly, or engineering environment.
    • Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
    • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in performing inspections and managing inventory.
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting material status and collaborating with multi-functional teams.
    • Work Style: A "self-starter " who can work independently once a task is assigned, but who also respects and follows strict engineering guidelines for sensitive tasks.
    • Physical Ability: Must be able to handle physical tasks associated with assembly and kitting, including lifting and manual dexterity.

    Education & Training:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Technical school training, vocational certification, or an Associate degree in Manufacturing, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred
    • 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in a manufacturing or engineering support environment may substitute for formal education
