Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Technician PM

Job Description

The Manufacturing Technician PM performs testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex electromechanical manufacturing equipment and subsystems in a high-technology environment. This role executes pre-test checks, acceptance testing, and final system verification prior to customer release while working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, R&D, and Assembly teams. The technician analyzes test data, documents results, and supports continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment performance, reliability, and manufacturing test processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex electromechanical manufacturing equipment and subsystems.
  • Execute pre-test checks, acceptance testing, and final system verification prior to customer release.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and support corrective actions in partnership with Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
  • Install, remove, and configure components within test systems using hand tools and mechanical assemblies.
  • Analyze test data, document results, and maintain accurate and complete manufacturing test records.
  • Operate proprietary testing software and computerized test systems to support manufacturing operations.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material (BOMs), schematics, and work instructions to perform test and assembly activities.
  • Utilize precision measurement and troubleshooting tools, including calipers, multimeters, and related inspection equipment, to verify equipment performance.
  • Support testing and operation of vacuum systems, power supplies, pumps, and electromechanical systems.
  • Participate in cross-training across multiple manufacturing and test stations to provide flexible support where needed.
  • Work directly with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, and Assembly teams to resolve technical issues and improve testing processes.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, contributing to root cause analysis, and recommending process improvements.
  • Apply structured troubleshooting methods to explain problem identification, root cause analysis, corrective actions taken, and final outcomes.
  • Work on equipment, machinery, or test systems rather than solely on finished products, ensuring reliable operation in production environments.
  • Use enterprise systems such as ERP tools and SAP (where applicable) to support manufacturing and test activities.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a manufacturing, test, equipment, electromechanical, or maintenance technician.
  • Demonstrated experience testing and troubleshooting equipment rather than only operating machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working on electromechanical systems and complex builds.
  • Proficiency using hand tools for assembly, installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment and components.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, bills of material (BOMs), and detailed work instructions.
  • Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers for mechanical inspection and verification.
  • Experience using multimeters and related electrical test equipment for troubleshooting and validation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to clearly explain problem identification, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and final outcomes.
  • Comfort learning and using computerized test systems and proprietary testing software.
  • Experience working on equipment, machinery, or test systems in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Ability to support corrective actions and collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with schematic reading and mechanical troubleshooting in a production or equipment-focused setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a technical field.
  • Completion of technical school or trade school programs such as HVAC, automotive, electrical, or similar technical disciplines.
  • Military technical training in electronics, electromechanical systems, or related specialties.
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with vacuum systems and related vacuum technology.
  • Experience with high-voltage or high-power systems.
  • Experience using ERP systems and SAP in a manufacturing or test environment.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis to interpret test results and support process improvements.
  • Experience supporting corrective actions and process improvement initiatives.
  • Exposure to complex electromechanical systems, including pumps, power supplies, and advanced test equipment.
