Job Title: Manufacturing Technician - PM Shift

Job Description

The Manufacturing Technician on the PM shift performs testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex electromechanical manufacturing equipment and subsystems used in advanced semiconductor and AI-related applications. This role focuses on executing pre-test checks, acceptance testing, and final system verification prior to customer release, while working closely with Engineering, R&D, and Assembly teams to resolve technical issues and improve testing processes. The position offers hands-on exposure to sophisticated vacuum, cryogenic, high-power, and electromechanical systems, with significant technical training and a clear contract-to-hire path.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex electromechanical manufacturing equipment and subsystems to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
• Execute pre-test checks, acceptance tests, and final system verification prior to customer release, following established procedures and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and support corrective actions in partnership with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, and Assembly teams.
• Install, remove, and configure components within test systems using hand tools and mechanical assemblies, ensuring proper fit, function, and safety.
• Operate proprietary testing software and computerized test systems to support manufacturing operations and equipment validation.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material (BOMs), schematics, and detailed work instructions to guide assembly, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Analyze test data, document results, and maintain accurate manufacturing test records in accordance with internal procedures and quality requirements.
• Utilize precision measurement and troubleshooting tools, including calipers, multimeters, and related inspection equipment, to verify equipment performance and diagnose issues.
• Support testing and operation of vacuum, power supply, pump, and electromechanical systems used in advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
• Participate in cross-training across multiple manufacturing and test stations to build versatility and support production needs.
• Collaborate directly with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, and Assembly teams to resolve technical issues, share findings, and improve testing processes.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues, recommending process improvements, and assisting in corrective action implementation.
• Contribute to statistical data analysis activities related to equipment performance and test results when applicable.
• Work on equipment, machinery, and test systems rather than solely on finished products, ensuring systems are properly configured and ready for production use.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a manufacturing, test, equipment, electromechanical, or maintenance technician working directly on equipment, machinery, or test systems.
• Demonstrated experience testing and troubleshooting equipment, not just operating machinery, including identifying problems and verifying corrective actions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working on complex electromechanical systems and assemblies.
• Proficiency using hand tools for assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical components.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, bills of material (BOMs), and detailed work instructions.
• Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and multimeters for inspection, verification, and troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to clearly explain problem identification, root cause analysis, corrective action taken, and final outcome.
• Comfort learning and using computerized test systems and proprietary testing software in a manufacturing environment.
• Background working on equipment, machinery, or test systems in a manufacturing or technical setting, rather than exclusively on finished products.
• Capability to support equipment testing and operation for vacuum, power supply, pump, and electromechanical systems.
• Familiarity with schematic reading and the ability to interpret electrical and mechanical documentation.
• Experience in a manufacturing technician or equipment technician role with mechanical troubleshooting and equipment testing responsibilities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
