Title:
Manufacturing Technician
Location: On Site Dorado PR
Length of Contract: 6 months

Position Description:

The Manufacturing Technician handles performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations. This technical position will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering structure for the duration of the assignment.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers on basic to intermediate setup, preventive maintenance, and calibration tasks. Additionally, you will perform rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You will determine (and assist in developing) methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process, as well as partner with engineers to conduct various production experiments.

Responsibilities:
  • Safety & Compliance: Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations, including Quality System Regulations (QSR) and ISO Standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performs basic to intermediate equipment setup, as well as corrective, preventive, and calibration maintenance as necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluates operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Validation Support: May support the installation and validation of equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following established validation procedures.
  • Documentation: Assists in the development, review, or revision of manufacturing documents and procedures.
  • Tooling & Inventory: Evaluates, orders, and performs basic tool qualifications for necessary equipment, tools, and fixtures to support production activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Leads or supports the investigation of out-of-tolerance (OOT) events on the production floor.
  • Training: May certify manufacturing associates in non-critical production processes.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Availability: Ability to work different shifts, overtime, and weekends as required by business needs.
  • Core Soft Skills: A great attitude with a strong desire to learn new skills.
  • Industry Experience: Prior background in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the Medical Device industry.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of PLCs, vision systems, sensors, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.
  • Schematics: Ability to read and interpret electrical prints and schematics.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills when exchanging ideas and complex information.
  • Ability to communicate in a concise, compelling, and logical manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
Education:
  • Associate Technical Degree (e.g., Instrumentation, Electronics, or related field).
