Job Summary
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 to support the Speargun Program at its Oxnard, CA facility. The selected candidate will support manufacturing operations by assembling, calibrating, testing, and reworking components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read engineering drawings, and experience working with manufacturing tools and processes in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical assembly of parts, subassemblies, and final products.
Support engineers with equipment setup, calibration, and manufacturing experiments.
Perform product rework, inspection, and quality testing.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
Use mechanical hand tools and measuring instruments safely and accurately.
Collect and evaluate manufacturing data to support process improvements.
Assist in developing and improving manufacturing methods and procedures.
Follow 5S principles and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Complete production documentation and follow computer-based work instructions.
Collaborate effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams to meet production goals.
Required Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical assembly.
Proficient in using mechanical hand tools such as wrenches, ratchets, sockets, hex bits, and measuring devices.
Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprints.
Knowledge of 5S principles in a manufacturing environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to work onsite in Oxnard, CA.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience assembling aerospace components in a cleanroom environment.
Experience using professional-grade adhesives, including two-part epoxies.
Experience mixing adhesives in fume hoods and performing masking operations.
Experience operating overhead gantry cranes.
Familiarity with computer-based training, electronic timekeeping, and digital work instructions.
