is currently seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 for our client Northrop Grumman at location Oxnard, California, United States Onsite.

Job Description

The Manufacturing Technician will perform a variety of duties relating to the fabrication or assembly of mechanical components for larger assemblies supporting the Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit that produces spacecraft components for satellites.

Duties include:

• Setting up and testing prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions • Analyzing data and recommending modifications to components or test procedures to meet desired specifications • Handling and managing fragile composite materials • Bonding composite structures to metallic fittings • Utilizing measurement tools such as calipers and rulers • Reading manufacturing and engineering drawings and shop planning

The ideal candidate will assist mechanical engineers in developing designs, perform rework and quality testing, and use sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data for on-line adjustments.

Skills and Experience

Must be a U.S. Citizen -- Required

High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience -- Required

Ability to read, write, and work to instructions written in English -- Required

Ability to lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds and be on feet for extended periods -- Required

Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts -- Required

Ability to navigate and operate within Microsoft Office Environment (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) -- Required

Demonstrated mechanical ability and familiarity with hand tool technique and safety -- Required

Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings and/or schematics -- Required

Familiarity with the concept of torque -- Required

Experience in a composites manufacturing environment, spacesatellite structures, and aerospace -- Preferred

Experience with cranes, rigging, forklifts, and similar manufacturing equipment -- Preferred

Proficient use of electronic test equipment, DC power supplies, Digital Multimeters, Source Meters -- Preferred

Experience with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance issues -- Preferred
