PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 2 in Oxnard, California for a contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This full-time onsite position supports manufacturing operations for a defense program, working closely with engineers on production, testing, calibration, and process improvement activities. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical assembly skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Required Skills
- Above average experience using basic mechanical hand tools, including wrenches, ratchets, sockets, hex bits, and measurement devices
- Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings
- Above average understanding of 5S principles in a mechanical assembly environment
- Ability to work effectively with team members in a mechanical assembly environment
- U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Skills
- Professional experience working with aerospace components or assemblies in a cleanroom environment
- Experience applying professional-grade adhesives, including two-part epoxies, mixing in fume hoods, and masking
- Experience operating large gantry-style overhead cranes
- Experience using computer-based training, timekeeping, and electronic work instructions
What You’ll Do
- Perform manufacturing operations related to parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies
- Work with engineers on equipment setup and calibration
- Perform rework and quality testing of manufactured products
- Collect and evaluate operating data using manufacturing software to make on-line product or equipment adjustments
- Assist in developing manufacturing methods and procedures to improve production processes
- Support engineering experiments and manufacturing process improvements
