Description

Manufacturing Technician

Pay: $19.50/hour

Location: Near Clifton Park,NY (not accessible by bus line)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

 
About the Role

Our client is looking for a Manufacturing Technician to join their manufacturing team, reporting to the shift supervisor. In this role, you'll fabricate components for their polypropylene venting system product line through a variety of processes, including cutting, routing, and plastic welding.

Job Duties

  • Use the MRP system to view work orders and work instructions
  • Build products per work order using a combination of plastic fabrication techniques, including plastic welding, routing, cutting, and bending/shaping
  • Carton and label finished goods
  • Execute quality procedures as documented by the quality department, building quality into every part manufactured
  • Ensure manufacturing transactions are accurately entered into the MRP system
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Assist the manufacturing leader in ensuring department equipment and sanitation levels are safely and properly maintained, following 5S principles
  • Assist the manufacturing team leader with cycle counting inventory
  • Ensure efficient use of time and equipment, maintaining accurate records and tight inventory control and security
  • Assist management with continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform other duties, projects, and assignments as needed

 

Experience and Required Skills

  • Commitment to workplace safety
  • High school diploma required
  • Certification in plastic or metal welding and fabrication preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong customer focus, achieving company, department, and personal goals through that focus
  • Sustained mental and visual attention to detail
  • Good communicator and self-motivated; able to follow verbal and written communications and directions
