Manufacturing Technician — Assembly & Light Sewing

At Express Employment Professionals, we’re hiring for our partner 3M in Red Wing, MN, where you’ll help produce safety equipment used worldwide. You’ll get comprehensive, hands‑on training—no prior manufacturing experience required.

Imagine your first week

You’re introduced to a bright, climate‑controlled production floor and a small crew that’s got your back. You learn to read simple blueprints, assemble parts with small tools, practice a few sewing steps (training included), and perform quality checks to ensure every product meets exact standards. By the end of the week, you’re rotating confidently through tasks and contributing to team goals.

Choose your shift

1st Shift

• Monday–Thursday | 4:00am–2:30pm
• Monday–Thursday | 5:00am–3:30pm
• Monday–Thursday | 5:00am–2:30pm AND Friday | 5:00am–9:00am

2nd Shift

• Monday–Thursday | 3:30pm–2:00am
• Monday-Friday | 3:00pm - 11:00pm

3rd Shift

• Monday–Friday | 11:00pm–7:00am
• Tuesday–Friday | 8:30pm–7:00am

Core responsibilities

• Read and follow straightforward blueprints/work instructions
• Assemble and secure parts using small tools and equipment
• Sew components when needed (training provided; no prior experience required)
• Conduct quality checks to confirm product standards
• Rotate through tasks during the shift
• Contribute in a team-based production environment

What it takes

• High school diploma or GED
• Comfort standing and moving for the entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion
• 6+ months of prior work history (any field)
• Dependable attendance, eagerness to learn, and team orientation

Pre-employment screening

Ability to pass a drug screen, background check, and coordination assessment
