    Role Overview

    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the operations team in consistently producing graphene to meet production goals. The Manufacturing Technician will perform day-to-day production activities, assist Manufacturing Engineering team with process improvement initiatives and root cause analysis for potential quality and safety incidents, and help ensure customer shipments are prepared and fulfilled in a timely manner. This role will also manage outbound shipments and incoming materials from suppliers.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform daily manufacturing activities to support consistent graphene production and achievement of production targets
    • Operate, monitor, and maintain production equipment used in graphene manufacturing processes in accordance with established procedures
    • Follow standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements to ensure reliable and repeatable production outcomes
    • Monitor and manage gas feedstock systems, ensuring proper flow, pressure, and supply consistency
    • Assemble, inspect, and repair flow control valves, manifolds and related flow process control components by following established procedure
    • Perform routine setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting of production line equipment and control systems
    • Record and maintain daily production matrices such as production yield, equipment downtime, and safety incidents
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, safety and material scientist teams to drive continuous improvement
    • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to minimize equipment downtime, increase production yield and reduce safety incidents
    • Prepare customer shipments, verify shipment accuracy, and ensure orders are fulfilled on a timely basis
    • Manage outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, documentation, and coordination with carriers as needed
    • Receive, inspect, organize, and manage incoming materials from suppliers to support uninterrupted production operations
    • Ensure proper storage and handling of received materials per safety and quality requirements
    • Coordinate with procurement team, suppliers and carriers on delivery schedules and discrepancies
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and applicable safety standards
    • Communicate production issues, material needs, shipment status, and improvement opportunities to management team and cross-functional partners



    Qualifications

    Required

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 4 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing, chemical laboratory, or materials production environment
    • Experience with pneumatic flow control process and system  
    • Ability to follow detailed technical procedures and safety protocols
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices
    • Comfortable working with production equipment, tools, materials, and basic documentation systems
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment
    • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams
    • Experience or familiarity with RCA methodologies (e.g., 5 Why, fishbone/Ishikawa) preferred
    • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely in accordance with company requirements

     Preferred

    • Associate degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or relevant manufacturing training
    • Familiarity with chemical feedstock and materials manufacturing processes
    • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility
    • Experience reading P&IDs and working with process flow control systems
    • Hands-on experience with flow control valve assembly, test and repair
    • Familiarity with Safety Integrity Level assessments and safety-critical control loops

     

    Work Environment

    This role operates in an active chemical/process manufacturing environment and requires regular presence on the plant floor.

    • Environment: Indoor and outdoor process/chemical plant settings; exposure to heat, noise, fumes, and moving machinery is expected. Must be able to occasionally work outdoors in varying weather conditions to operate valves and manage chemical feedstock supply lines, following all chemical handling and site safety protocols.
    • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequent lifting and carrying of equipment, tools, or materials up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance.
    • Working at Heights: Must be able to occasionally work at elevations up to 15 ft when troubleshooting and maintaining process equipment, utilizing ladders, platforms, and scissor lift in accordance with site safety requirements.
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Use of PPE is mandatory in designated areas, including but not limited to safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed boots, respiratory protection (breathing mask/respirator) when working in areas with chemical exposure, and fall protection equipment (full-body harness and lanyard) when working at elevated heights.
    • Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Occasional weekend or off-hours work may be required to support planned maintenance, shutdowns, startups, or urgent production challenges.
