Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician (Maintenance I) to support equipment reliability and facility operations within our manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on a wide range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Replace or repair defective components, including motors, bearings, sensors, belts, gearboxes, valves, and conveyors.
- Utilize tools and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, torque wrenches, calipers, and alignment tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and work orders.
- Assist in installation and setup of new equipment.
- Document maintenance activities and parts usage in CMMS.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams on root cause analysis.
- Follow all safety procedures including LOTO and OSHA standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- 2-5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with PLCs/VFDs is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and overtime.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods (8-12 hours).
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing.
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Work at heights using ladders or lifts.
- Manual dexterity for tools and equipment.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and humidity.
- Wear PPE including steel-toed boots and safety glasses.
