Production WorkerJob SummaryThe Production Worker is responsible for packaging, handling, and preparing finished products for shipment while supporting efficient manufacturing operations. This role involves operating equipment, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and assisting other departments as needed in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPackage and properly label finished products according to established standardsStack empty pallets in the automatic pallet distributorApply plastic covers to palletsMonitor the automatic shrink-wrap oven and make adjustments as neededManually shrink-wrap pallet covers using a propane torch when requiredOrganize and maintain the finished product storage areaProcess scrap, repair, and quality control rollsSplice short product rolls as necessaryDispose of scrap and recyclable materials in designated areasPlace product rolls into boxes and stack boxes on pallets when requiredManually palletize rolls as neededLoad the core machine with raw cores, flap paper, and glueAssist other departments as needed to support production operationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentTransport pallets to designated locations within the storage yardMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredAbility to operate a forkliftBasic computer literacyWorking Conditions and Physical DemandsPosition requires working 12-hour rotating shifts (36- and 48-hour weeks), including weekendsShift assignment may be days or nightsRequires prolonged standing, lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and operating manufacturing equipmentWork environment includes high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, dust, and odors
