A publicly traded manufacturer of industrial pipe repair and leak-sealing products is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to join the team. This individual contributor role provides hands-on technical support across production operations, with a strong emphasis on independently diagnosing and resolving equipment downtime. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting high-volume food packaging equipment and can troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues without relying on extensive operator, assembly, or engineering support.
This is an industrial manufacturing environment involving resins and adhesives and is not a food-grade, pharmaceutical, clean-room, or medical-device production facility.

Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:30 AM4:00 PM, with minimal overtime
Responsibilities:
- Equipment Troubleshooting & Production Support
- Independently diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and general equipment issues affecting production uptime and throughput.
- Respond to equipment downtime events and complete repairs with minimal supervision or outside technical support.
- Inspect, prepare, test, and maintain stand-alone and integrated production equipment to ensure full functionality and compliance with performance specifications.
- Complete repairs and adjustments to manufacturer standards while maintaining all applicable electrical and workplace safety requirements.
- Support high-volume production equipment where downtime directly affects output, efficiency, and delivery expectations.
Equipment Operations & Commissioning:
- Commission new testing and production equipment, including setup, verification, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing.
- Evaluate equipment performance and make adjustments needed to achieve operational and production specifications.
- Read, interpret, and apply machine drawings, electrical schematics, and panel layouts in day-to-day troubleshooting and repair activities.
Calibration & Quality Compliance
- Execute calibration procedures and protocols across assigned production and testing equipment.
- Identify and document miscalibrated, damaged, or out-of-specification equipment.
- Report equipment nonconformances in accordance with the companys ISO Quality Management Plan.
- Ensure equipment repairs, adjustments, and documentation meet established quality and safety requirements.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain equipment and process Standard Operating Procedures, troubleshooting guides, and performance specifications.
- Document repairs, equipment findings, corrective actions, and recommendations clearly and accurately.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment reliability, throughput, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Production Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Assess and report on manufacturing throughput, equipment bottlenecks, operational efficiency, and waste.
- Communicate equipment status, findings, and recommended actions to engineering, quality, and operations personnel.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to resolve recurring equipment and production issues while maintaining ownership of hands-on troubleshooting activities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Technician, Packaging Technician, or Maintenance Technician supporting equipment within the food packaging industry required
- Demonstrated experience independently troubleshooting and repairing packaging or production equipment during downtime events
- Experience supporting high-volume packaging lines or production equipment where downtime directly impacts throughput
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience diagnosing and repairing a variety of manufacturing systems and equipment
- Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical wiring, connections, controls, and panel layouts, with the ability to safely troubleshoot general electrical and power issues
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting machine drawings, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and technical documentation
- Experience maintaining, repairing, or troubleshooting automated or semi-automated packaging equipment
- Ability to work independently, prioritize equipment issues, and complete repairs with minimal supervision
- Experience authoring, updating, or following SOPs within a production environment
- Effective cross-functional communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate equipment status, findings, repairs, and recommendations
- Vocational training, technical certification, or associate degree in a manufacturing, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or electrical discipline preferred
- Experience commissioning new production or packaging equipment preferred
- Familiarity with ISO Quality Management Systems preferred
- Background in calibration management or metrology preferred
- Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma preferred
- Ability to interpret PLC logic or basic automation schematics is a plus
