Location9161 Industrial Ct, Gaithersburg, MD 20877, USAPosition SummaryProduction role in consumables, kit or reagent manufacturing responsible for meeting production schedules in a fast‑paced, high‑throughput industrial setting. This may include the production of coated plates, chemical buffers, and biological diluents/reagents and/or assembled kits for customer order fulfillment. Some degree of professional latitude, creativity and self‑management is expected.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate automated equipment used to perform and produce biological assays and/or reagentsContribute to process improvement, assay and process development for manufacturingDocumentationComplete appropriate documentation to support process and production procedures including data capture, forms, logbooks, and inventory batch recordsDaily maintenance and documentation of all production equipmentParticipation in general laboratory maintenance including maintaining laboratory cleanliness, supplies and equipmentMaintain physical inventory by processing/aliquotting/vialing/labeling materials.Prepare, maintain and report raw material, reagent and/or coated plate inventories.Participate in year‑end physical inventoryFollow laboratory safety precautions and use of personal protective equipmentMay manufacture custom and/or prototype requests for customersMay occasionally handle BSL2 reagentsSpecific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirementsExperience and QualificationsHigh School diploma requiredA degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering or related field is preferredPrior manufacturing experience a plusExperience with MRP/ERP and JDE systems preferredExperience with cGMP and/or ISO certification highly preferredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAptitude for learning and adhering to standard laboratory techniques and safety precautionsUnderstand scientific fundamentals and analytical backgroundAbility to learn additional software applications/toolsMechanical aptitude including equipment troubleshootingExcellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skillsEffectively communicate issues/problems and results that impact timelines, accuracy and reliability of dataProficiency in MS Office SuiteAbility to multi‑task and work productively in a demanding manufacturing environment with changing prioritiesPhysical DemandsThis position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.Up to 80% of the day may be spent at a lab bench and/or in the cleanroomWork EnvironmentStandard industrial manufacturing, logistics and/or cleanroom environmentCompensation SummaryThe annual base salary for this position ranges from $39,600 to $57,500.
