Job description:

Morales Professional Services are currently recruiting for approximately 20 different associates to fill numerous Manufacturing and Quality Technician roles for an Indianapolis based aerospace manufacturer.

Summary:

The **Manufacturing Technician **will manually place resin onto layup molds. Handles prepare adhesive, core, and other layup materials. Cuts vacuum bag materials and creates vacuum bags. Prepares parts for transfer to the autoclave department. Ensures layups and vacuum bags are prepared according to the requirements of manufacturing travelers.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Read and follow basic instructions and diagrams in English
  • Use basic shop math skills to record information such as freezer out-time, or mixture weights
  • Follow standard shop practices and quality standards in the aerospace industry
  • Prepare molds using shop-approved release agents
  • Layup materials to molds and remove air pockets using approved hands, squeegees, and heat guns.
  • Occasionally mix resins and catalysts as specified
  • Trim laminated fabric using scissors or knives without damaging the layup mold
  • Perform physical and environmental checks and document work for manufacturing travelers
  • Builds semi-complex ply-buildups under minimal supervision, ensuring that the plies are well-compacted
  • Vacuum bag parts applying best practices, ensuring that the vacuum bags do not leak during cure
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and additional hours as necessary.

Requirements :

Requires a High School Diploma/GED or combination of relevant education and work experience may be substituted to meet educational requirements, but would like at least 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience. Must have a high degree of mechanical aptitude and be able to write standard work instructions for statements of work in a manufacturing environment. Should be able to read design specifications and technical drawings.
