This position will be based in Madison, WI. The technician will be responsible for mechanical, optical and/or electrical component assembling tasks for optical microscopes for life science imaging applications (in particular, our line of miniscopes used in live brain imaging studies). The role will work closely with final system QA/QC and manufacturing engineering teams to successfully deliver quality products and subassemblies.ResponsibilitiesAssemble and manufacture instrumentation, subassemblies, and precision components.Test assemblies and sub-systems by running electrical/mechanical tests on devices to ensure standards are achieved.Execute written SOPs and work instructions.Modify and fabricate parts using small hand tools and under a microscope (up to 40x magnification).Debug assemblies or systems in cooperation with the production team or engineering.Work with manufacturing engineering to alter/improve assembly instructions.Assist other departments as needed and as directed by the supervisor.Ensure timely completion of assignments while meeting or exceeding quality standards.Accurately document work performed and maintain production records.Maintain a clean work environment.QualificationsExperience using basic mechanical tools and electrical testing tools.2+ years of hands‑on electromechanical experience.Good mechanical and electronic aptitude, along with exposure to a variety of hand/mechanical tools.Basic familiarity with a personal computer.Familiarity with reading assembly drawings to build assemblies.Eye for detail and ability to follow precise instructions.Must be flexible and adaptable; many jobs require learning by doing.Ability to lift 25‑30 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.Additional Consideration Given ForExperience working with optical components (mirror and lens systems).Experience with small part assembly.Technician or related associate degree.At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full‑time position is between $42,300 and $75,000 (paid through an hourly rate equivalent).
