Duration:        12 Months
Pay Rate:       $24/hr  - $26/hr on W2
Shift hour:      2nd Shift Mon–Thu, 3:30 PM–2:00 AM  (100% Onsite)
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
 
  • 2nd shift, Manufacturing Technician B- Ruggedization Room 2nd shift 3:30PM-2:00AM (Monday-Thursday)
  • Responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
 
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
 
  • The Technician is responsible for preparing, masking, coating, curing, and inspecting printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies to ensure protection against moisture, dust, chemicals, corrosion, and environmental exposure.
  • This role supports manufacturing quality and reliability requirements by applying conformal coating materials in accordance with work instructions, engineering drawings, and process specifications.
  • The Staking and Bonding Technician is responsible for securing electronic components, wires, and hardware on printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies using approved staking and bonding materials and methods.
  • This role helps ensure assemblies meet mechanical stability, vibration resistance, environmental durability, and workmanship standards in accordance with manufacturing instructions, engineering drawings, and quality requirements. Examples of staking/ bounding task
  • Staking is the process of applying a controlled amount of adhesive or staking compound to electronic components, wires, or hardware on a circuit board to hold them securely in place.
  • This helps prevent movement, vibration damage, and stress during handling or operation.
  • The material is typically dispensed with a syringe, needle, or automated applicator and then cured according to process requirements.
  • Bonding involves applying adhesive to attach or secure parts such as wires, connectors, terminals, or components to the circuit assembly.
  • Before bonding, surfaces are often cleaned or prepared to ensure proper adhesion.
  • The bonding material is then applied with a syringe in the specified area and cured to create a secure attachment that supports the assembly’s strength and durability.
  • Conformal coating is a thin protective layer applied over the completed circuit board and components to protect against moisture, dust, chemicals, corrosion, and environmental contamination.
  • Sensitive areas such as connectors, switches, and test points are masked before application.
  • The coating is then applied by a syringe, brushing, spraying, dipping, or automated equipment and cured to form a protective barrier that conforms to the shape of the board.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
