Manufacturing Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Technician in Mesa, Arizona for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform hands-on mechanical assembly of gun-system components and assemblies while supporting setup, calibration, rework, quality testing, and other manufacturing operations. The technician will work from blueprints and detailed procedures while using industrial equipment and precision measuring tools in a production environment.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience performing manufacturing assembly work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to follow detailed operating procedures and work instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately collect and record manufacturing data.
• Ability to perform multiple manufacturing tasks while maintaining quality requirements.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 40 lbs.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain required coverage under the Safe Explosives Act as an employee possessor/responsible person upon starting.
• Ability to work the required 1st-shift schedule, overtime, and occasional weekends as needed.

Preferred Skills

• Mechanical assembly or mechanical maintenance background.
• Experience reading engineering prints.
• Experience with Costpoint, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), or similar production software.

What You’ll Do

• Perform mechanical assembly of subassemblies and top-level assemblies for gun systems.
• Complete manufacturing operations individually and as part of a production team.
• Follow detailed operating procedures, work instructions, and established manufacturing processes.
• Read blueprints and technical documentation to complete assembly activities.
• Work with engineers on manufacturing setup and calibration tasks.
• Perform rework and quality-testing activities as required.
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify positioning and manufacturing requirements during bonding and assembly operations.
• Operate industrial equipment such as cranes and forklifts as required.
• Collect and document manufacturing and quality data.
• Maintain clean and organized production work areas.
• Participate in team initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 1st shift, Monday–Thursday.
• Four 10-hour shifts.
• 5:00 AM–3:30 PM.
• Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.

Pay

• $31.41 per hour.
