Manufacturing Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Technician in Oxnard, CA for an approximately one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform manufacturing operations supporting the fabrication, assembly, testing, and production of mechanical components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and/or schematics.
• Ability to read, write, and work from instructions written in English.
• Familiarity with proper hand-tool techniques and safety, including tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
• Familiarity with torque concepts.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods during the workday.
• Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on manufacturing schedules.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to take initiative in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as DC power supplies, digital multimeters, and source meters.
• Proficiency with basic shop arithmetic.
• Experience or familiarity with ISO requirements, standards, and compliance.
• Experience with cranes and rigging, forklifts, and similar manufacturing equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Fabricate and assemble mechanical components used in larger assemblies.
• Set up and test prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
• Analyze test data and recommend modifications to components or test procedures to meet specifications.
• Assist engineers with setup and calibration activities.
• Support the development, testing, and fabrication of mechanical and electromechanical assemblies and components.
• Perform rework and quality testing on parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
• Collect and evaluate operating data and make adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
• Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes.
• Handle and manage fragile composite materials.
• Track adhesive material usage, traceability, pot life, and out-time controls.
• Read and interpret manufacturing and engineering drawings and shop planning documentation.
• Report manufacturing data and coordinate with other employees and departments.
• Help maintain overall shop appearance and cleanliness.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 9/80A work schedule.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts as required by manufacturing schedules.

Pay

$47.30 per hour.
