Operations Specialist
Location: Port Allen, LA Pay: $18.00 - $20.82/hour Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Friday, 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM as needed Duration: 6-month contract with potential for permanent hire
Position Overview
We are seeking an Operations Specialist to join our production team in Port Allen, LA. In this role, you will support daily manufacturing operations while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), company policies, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Complete all required training, including GMP, safety, and company procedures.
Perform daily production tasks, including:
Cylinder preparation
Bake-out
Blow-down
Filling
Packaging of finished drug products
Execute the daily production schedule and communicate any schedule changes with Production Leads and Quality Assurance.
Stage materials and maintain proper segregation, documentation, and safety practices.
Follow Production Batch Records and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure cGMP compliance.
Procure components and materials needed for manufacturing operations.
Monitor inventory levels to help prevent production interruptions.
Review production logbooks for accuracy and completeness.
Perform equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Assist with additional production activities as needed.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
Preferred
PTEC degree.
Technical background in Chemistry or Compressed Gases.
Two or more years of manufacturing experience.
Experience working in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to train and support team members.
