• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 4 months
• Pay Rate: $45.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM (1st shift); occasional overtime may be required

Job Summary

This position, reporting to a Manufacturing Manager, is responsible for supporting Sonata System integration and supporting Sonata System refurbishing in a system manufacturing environment. The job responsibility includes hands-on Sonata System assembling and testing, refurbishing field-returned systems, including but not limited to in-process inspections and verifications of system component builds, supporting Sonata System accessory builds, and processing manufacturing work orders such as issuing and closing work orders using a computer. In addition, the job responsibilities may include assisting R&D activity, participating in meetings to improve production efficiency, building prototypes, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing / Production Support

• As part of the manufacturing team, assemble, test, and support production/manufacturing activity related to Sonata System integrations
• Perform inspections and verifications of system component builds
• Prepare manufacturing documentation for Sonata System builds
• Issue and process work orders using computer
• Support manufacturing where resources are required and needed to complete production builds (finished goods)
• Prepare manufacturing documentation for refurbishing field-returned systems
• Prepare manufacturing documentation for system accessory builds
• Occasionally assist R&D to build prototypes and related activity
• Prepare labeling and production documentation, such as MPIs, LHRs, FRMs, etc., in accordance with Quality System requirements

Testing

• Perform testing and perform troubleshooting on production devices or equipment in accordance with Engineering and Quality System requirements
• May be required to keep a lab notebook to document processes and changes

Manufacturability

• May participate in design requirements for new products and product enhancements to facilitate transfer of products to manufacturing in a timely and reasonable fashion
• May work directly with manufacturing staff to transfer product

Production

• Integrate/assemble components to build Sonata Systems in accordance with approved Process Instructions and production documentation

• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Must be able to document activities clearly in lab notebooks
• Ability to use computer software such as Excel, Word, email, etc.
• Ability to use ERP software such as Oracle to open and close work orders and to prepare manufacturing documentation for builds
• Ability to use Oracle Agile to update, modify, or change production documents as required
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) required
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting environment
• Required Medical Device Experience General Medical Devices
• Required ESD Experience General Knowledge
• Must have strong hands-on dexterity for small-part assembly (small tools, calipers; microscope work a plus)
• Must be adaptable in a fast-changing manufacturing environment; priorities may shift within hours
• Must be comfortable with basic computer work: Excel updates, Word, and ERP work order activity (Oracle/Agile exposure a plus; training available)
• Documentation mindset is important
• Electro-mechanical assembly experience
• Basic experience using electrical testing equipment
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Strong team player with a positive attitude

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience in data collection from experiments preferred but not required
• Oracle experience is not required but it would be a plus
• Oracle Agile experience is not required but it would be a plus
• Regulated experience preferred (medical device first; pharma/GMP acceptable)
• Medical device manufacturing experience preferred
• Other regulated manufacturing environments may be considered
• Experience working with production documentation and quality processes
• Oracle/ERP experience is a plus but not required
• Local Bay Area candidates preferred; if commuting, candidate must explicitly confirm reliable early arrival

Education Requirements

• AA degree or equivalent experience in technical discipline
• Associate's degree (AA) is strongly preferred per hiring manager/job description rationale (ability to interpret documents and flag discrepancies)

Required Experience

• 3 5 years in medical device or similar product design and/or manufacturing
• 0 3 years as Technician in a Medical Device Company

• Shift starts early (5:30 6:00 AM). Occasional overtime may be required.
• Must have strong hands-on dexterity for small-part assembly
• Must be adaptable in a fast-changing manufacturing environment where priorities may shift within hours
