Join a team redefining warehouse automation

Symbotic’s AI-powered robotics platform orchestrates advanced machines to move goods with unprecedented speed and precision. We’re scaling an end-to-end automated system that transforms the modern warehouse.

Your impact

  • Own the electrical test architecture for complex robotic and electromechanical products from NPI through production.
  • Enable reliable, scalable, and data-rich manufacturing test solutions across internal sites and Contract Manufacturers.
  • Elevate product quality, manufacturing yield, and time-to-root-cause through robust automation and analytics.

Core responsibilities

  • Create electrical schematics, PCBAs, and interface boards for production test fixtures and validation systems.
  • Lead hardware bring-up: parts selection, schematic/layout reviews, soldering/rework, and debugging at the board/system levels.
  • Design scalable test systems spanning power distribution, relay/multiplexer networks, signal conditioning, DAQ, and instrumentation.
  • Develop and maintain automated test software (Python preferred) for instrument control, test execution, data capture, and diagnostics.
  • Use oscilloscopes, DMMs, power analyzers, and protocol/logic analyzers for deep electrical investigation.
  • Drive deployment and ongoing production support with CMs: troubleshooting, yield improvement, and failure analysis.
  • Analyze test and field data to refine test coverage, product reliability, and factory efficiency.
  • Define test strategies, validation plans, and manufacturing test requirements for all NPIs.
  • Collaborate across Electrical, Firmware, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Operations to resolve cross-discipline issues.
  • Plan and track project deliverables, schedules, and readiness milestones for fixture rollouts.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians; codify best practices in debugging and test engineering.
  • Continuously improve fixture reliability, automation depth, and operational processes.

Must-have qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and 8+ years in hardware design, manufacturing test, or system validation.
  • Expertise in schematic capture and PCBA development (Altium or similar).
  • Strong hands-on skills: bring-up, soldering, rework, component-level debug.
  • Solid command of analog/digital design, power electronics, SI, grounding, EMI/noise, and protection.
  • Comfort with oscilloscopes, DMMs, programmable supplies, loads, logic analyzers, and DAQs.
  • Experience architecting fixtures with relays, multiplexers, interface boards, and automated measurement.
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and diagnostics.
  • Direct experience supporting manufacturing and partnering with CMs.
  • Knowledge of CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet and associated tooling.
  • Familiar with data logging, database integration, analytics of test results, and failure trend analysis.
  • Exposure to embedded systems, sensors, motor systems, or electromechanical platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project ownership, mentorship, and strong communication.

Preferred

  • Experience in robotics or industrial automation; high-volume manufacturing exposure.
  • SCPI-based instrument control; automated validation frameworks.
  • Production diagnostics, reliability testing, and structured root-cause methods.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, fixture ergonomics, and DFT.

Work norms

  • Up to 20% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

Proficiencies

  • Electrical Schematics
  • PCB Assembly (Printed Circuit Board Assembly)
