Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Percussion Caption Head
In conjunction with the Marching Band Director, responsibilities include support of the marching band program, including, but not limited to:
- Design, direct, and instruction of high school percussion section (battery & front ensemble).
- Establish performance requirements, enforce academic requirements, and verify each student's eligibility to participate.
- Provide for percussion participation at extracurricular events, including concerts, football games, pep rallies, parades, and other community-based activities.
- Adhere to rehearsal schedule, performance schedule and protocols.
- Attend all performances and events.
- Coordinate with band booster club, and support band booster club activities.
- Facilitating and coordinating with parents and parent organizations.
- Ensure that programs are cost-effective and funds are managed wisely.
- Maintain current inventory of all fixed assets within department.
- Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all percussion equipment.
- Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Accompany and supervise students on out-of-town trips, including on bus rides to and from destinations.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and BOE policies.
- Other duties as assigned by the principal and/or superintendent.
